Reindeer Food
Reindeer food is a staple for a kid’s Christmas Eve tradition. There are many ways to make an easy Reindeer food by using what is already in your home. You can also put the filling in any decorative container, a bag, or Ziploc. One of the easiest ways I found to store is in a plastic ornament from the Dollar Tree. This way it can hang on the tree until Christmas Eve until it is time to sprinkle in the yard for Santa’s Reindeer.
For the ingredients in the Reindeer food, we used oats, sprinkles, and a dash of glitter for sparkle. You can use any type of sprinkles, add in chocolate, or anything else you can think of. For the main ingredient: Oats - you could also use peanuts, chex mix, crumbled bread. The possibilities are endless on what you can use to add in a filler into the mix.
We chose to put ours in a selection of small glass wish vases, round ornaments, and bigger ornaments. Bags would be another option and something usually people have on hand.
You can print out an easy sticker on a label sheet, or on a piece of paper to cut out and tie with a ribbon around the container of your choice. This was easy enough for my 7 year old daughter to completely make a whole bundle of Reindeer food by herself.
