Sealing Paint on Polymer Clay

I will start this by saying. I am not a resin girl.

Yes, it is stunning on pieces and I am sure I should use it more but there is something about the natural quality of the polymer clay and leaving it matte that has my heart.

With that being said it has been hard to find a way to seal paint on polymer clay that isn’t “using resin”. Depending on the clay and the paint you use, different sealants can come off, stay sticky, show streaks, or even run the paint. But I finally found a sealer that has worked with EVERYTHING I have used on clay and it never shows streaks.

Most of the time I like the matte look, it makes it look natural. But every now and then I do want to shine it up and instead of using resin I choose to do the glossy Varathane instead of the matte. Not only does it not make it sticky, but I have used sticky paint before and this sealer has helped the paint seal NOT STICKY. I am in love.

If you want to check it you, you can check it out HERE on my Amazon link (if a purchase is made, I do receive commissions). You can also grab at your local hardware store but I find it easier to get it shipped in 2 days as a busy mom.

Happy creating!
